Mansikkakakku lasissa

Onneksi on trifle, jolla pelastetaan ihan mikä tilanne tahansa!

In English:

Strawberry cake in a glass

... aka when the bundt doesn't come out of the pan as nicely as you hoped and your guests are at the door.

You know the feeling when you make a very nice batter with care and love, pour it into a very well prepared bundt pan, bake the cake to perfection (lovely, golden surface) and then the damn thing doesn't come out in one piece and it's all ruined? If not, I applaude you. Your luck will run out eventually, though, so you just wait.

Luckily there is a thing called trifle that will save anything! Who would know anything about the cake disaster when you bring these lovely sofisticated desserts to the table like the domestic goddess that you are? Well now, maybe I exaggerated a bit and dramatized the situation, too, but sometimes you just need that to make an impact. This isn't exactly a recipe but it's not a bad thing to write down the simplest things.

6-8 strawberries, fresh or frozen
0,5 teaspoon powdered sugar
2 slices bundt cake
vanilla custard, whipped cream or ice cream, to taste

Dice the strawberries and mix with the powdered sugar. If you use frozen strawberries chop them before they're completely thawed. Spoon half of the strawberries on the bottom of the serving glass, crmble one slice of the cake on top and add half of the custard / cream / ice cream. Spoon almoost all of the remaining strawberries on top, crmble the other cake slice and add the rest of the custard / cream / ice cream. Garnish with a few dices of the strawberries and sprinkle woth powdered sugar. You could make this to a bigger croud in one big dish, but I think the individual ones are nicer and it doesn't turn into a mush that easilly. And you could make this even if the bundt turns out just fine. Your choice.
